FAQs

How do I request services?

Simply contact Lori Waldrip by phone at 303-346-3885 or email at lori@developmentresearchllc.com

What information do I need to provide?

For individual profiles, Lori requests the individual's name (including middle initial when available).  Other helpful information includes the individual's home address and employment information.

Lori also requests information on the requesting organization, such as lists of board and committee memberships (to look for links to the organization), a current annual report, and the purpose of the research (i.e. for an annual or capital campaign).

Can I see a sample of your work?

Sample full and partial research reports (with names and identifying information changed to protect privacy) are available upon request, as are my resume and lists of references and sources I use.

What are your standards of privacy?

Development Research, LLC adheres to strict codes of confidentiality.  Prospects do not know they are being researched.  Organizations do not know who is being cultivated or solicited by other organizations.

What are your standards of ethics?

Development Research, LLC only uses publicly available sources of information.  Profiles only contain information that is relevant to donor cultivation and solicitation.

Completed projects and profiles are the property of the organization that commissioned them, and are not resold.

Information gathered from an organization for the purpose of completing a research assignment (such as a board list or annual report) will not be resold and will only be used for the research project for which it was obtained.

What resources do you use?

Development Research, LLC subscribes to the top databases available for information on ownership of stock, real estate, and luxury items, and giving to charitable and political causes.  We also subscribe to various periodicals, listservs and email newsletters so that you don't have to!

How much do you charge for services?

Because each project is different, please contact Lori Waldrip for fees.

Why can't I just rely on electronic screening services?  Can't I just do Internet research myself?

Although a wealth of information is available for free on the Internet, and other electronic methods of data gathering are becoming more sophisticated, when it comes to an individual with capacity to give and affinity with your organization, you can't beat a profile researched by an individual.  Experienced prospect researchers such as Lori Waldrip can make judgment calls, knowing when to be skeptical of information and when and where to look further.  Experienced researchers know what information is important for your organization and its goals, and where to find it.
